Oh.... The cuteness. It makes me want to run out and get more and more kittens right now! I'm sure my house will one day be full of them, as many as I can rescue. But until then, it's nice to know that other people are doing such a good job of it..... Check it out.

SNOW

Snow, snow, snow!!!

Usually I love snow. But it's our family secret santa exchanging, pre-christmas meal tonight, and watching it snow allllllllll morning, I started to think that maybe people wouldn't be able to make it

Like my heavily pregnant cousin, 3 weeks from her due date

Or M, stuck out there at the coast

We've all been looking forward to it for weeks - mostly to see what crazy ideas people have come up with for their boxes...

I am more excited about giving mine than receiving one. Can't wait!!

The kitten is not happy about this snow business either. Doesn't like to walk in it. You can see his angry face above....

Felbrigg treasure...

Matt and I went chestnut hunting, and gathered just a few :p

It got a bit competitive at one point, but ended peacefully

I've rescued all the larger, scrummy ones to roast on M's fire

and used the smaller ones to make some nice winter strings for the garden birds

(that is, the ones that are left, thank you kitten!)

The kitten watched inquisitively from under his boat - favourite napping spot of the moment

Hopefully he won't ambush the birds while they're munching.....

A little not-so-little-kitten update

Can't believe how much he's grown. He has recently taken over my bedroom, possibly in an effort to have a room of his own - I wouldn't be surprised! (Errrr, in one of the above pictures, you can see how much of a bombsite my room is... I do apologise! And for kittens posing - not his most gentleman like pose... but still cute right??!)

He's turned into quite a scrapper too. We wouldn't have believed it when we first got him - he was a tiny, flouncy, ginger fluff ball, frightened of the outside. Now I quite often see him chasing off cats twice his size, claws firmly dug in to their backs... Or taking on seagulls on the lawn...

So proud. lol

Kitten killed a blackbird last night. Usually I manage to get there in time to rescue whatever it is he's playing with, but not this time :(

This one has been in the garden a lot. It was really tame and used to come sit near me when I was in the garden, knowing that I would throw it some sunflower seeds. sigh. I know it's just his nature but why not a horrible big fat pigeon or a nasty seagull, why a lovely blackbird...

These are the last of the sunflowers anyway, in beautiful autumnal colours

busy busy busy...

has never been truer. Nothing substantial has happened at all since I last wrote on here. Lots of general, everyday, little things.

M and I went to the Country Fair, was good and country-like. I sold my old car. I put a path in amongst the poppies in my garden. I applied for yet another job. I sent off for, and received my provisional minibus licence. Soaked up some rays. Not a lot to say really, so it'll be mostly pics this time round...

Happy Birthday!

Made some sparkly poppy-ish biscuits for someone's special birthday... That edible glitter does look good, but such a pain to use!! Made LOTS of mess :) nerrrmind eh.

Back to normal now, back at work - boring boring boring. And cold. Lol. Even in the mountains in India I wasn't this cold. Just takes some getting used to it again. All the daffodils have opened up, and there's signs of some tulips too - not sure where they came from, they weren't there last year!!!!

And all these gorgeous violas have popped up in the grass. Haven't got the heart to cut it, will just have to go around them. Spring makes the kitten go slightly bonkers. He's really suffering with matted fur at the moment, even though he gets brushed all the time! It's all the tree climbing that does it, twigs in his fur... poor thing.

I am huddled up in my blanket thinking warm thoughts, eating some poppyseed and blueberry muffins I brought home from work. Tasty!

Trying to decide if I can be bothered to make some cupcakes for work tomorrow, seeing as I won't be there valentines day... Worrying about going to India. Thinking about the future. Craving chocolate in a big way (unusual)... Thinking thinking thinking. Thinking so much my brain hurts. Thinking about the postman, does he care if post gets wet in the rain or the snow? Thinking about whether acrylic paint will run in the rain...

Surprise surprise - I did make cupcakes. I'm not usually bothered about valentines in the slightest, all that commercialism and twee. It occurs to me that I have done quite a bit valentinesy stuff this year...

Recent cakes and things!!

I really want to make a gingerbread house today, but I am having the hardest time finding some baking soda. I mean, people round here must use it surely!! I saw on a blog the other day these girls who have gingerbread house parties and get together and all decorate them together, sounds fun to me. Thinking of having another birthday garden party in the summer, could do it then :)

Had a clearout of photos and stuff yesterday and found these lovely ones of the kitten, doing what he does best - looking cute
And he's turned from this into a lion!! I wonder if he will lose all his extra fluff in the summer...

This is my little bit of gardening space - this is what it looked like last July, but this year it'll be even better!! :)

I can't find any pictures of my room, and it's a tip at the moment so i'm not taking any. All you need to know is that it's small, very small, but cosy and made cosier by this little fella...
